Eight years later, this is starting to taste like right bank Bordeaux. Yes, maybe a ripe vintage but still, the French characteristics on this bottle are undeniable. Not much change in color but on the nose, aside from blueberry and cassis, there's leather, cigar box and forest floor now. The tannins have subsided and the texture is silky smooth now. Acid is medium. Oak is in check and the finish is persistent. Judging by the state of development, I would say this has entered the maturity phase and should be peaking within a couple of years. Stored well, I anticipate at least eight to ten years more of life to this bottle. Great quality wine. Good stuff.

In the glass this remains a dark inky wine with aromas of lavender and cassis. Possessing acidic backbone, the acidity and tannins are disjointed, and the fruit struggles to shine through and find balance. Somewhat sour notes of black cherry and cassis along with some iron streaks. Lighter notes of pepper.
Better on day 2. Acidity is prominent, fruit remains muddled.
Drink up.

Drink up - while enjoyable, this wine was clearly on the downside from it's peak. Can't find my notes. I have enjoyed this wine (in multiple vintages) but the '08 can't age like prior vintages. A nice bottle of wine and I will buy future vintages of this wine from this producer. 88+ tonight. It has been in a cool cellar since 3/2013.

Dark berries, earthy, lots of tannins, decanted several hours before it opened up, could last a few more years

Agree with CWILLIAM note this is on the decline.
