Short decant, strong blackberry and oak in both the nose and the palate, the tannins were round and not particularly noticeable. Fairly full bodied, it paired reasonably with a NY sirloin.

Opened this bottle on a Tuesday & then had it again on Friday... what a difference. Plenty of fruit on day 1, mainly cherry, but didn't have the big and bold character that Petite Sirah does. Could've believed it to be a Zin at that point. Moderate length, not overly dry. But by day 4 it had transformed into something MUCH more interesting. Ripe & more concentrated cherry, some leather, a longer, tastier finish... much more elegant. I have one more bottle & I'll make sure to decant it for a minimum of 3 hours. 85 pts. day 1, 90+ pts. day 4.
