13.5% alcohol. Long cork of vg quality. The colour is on the light side, but still pretty dark for Pinot. The nose is lively, with fruity sensations mixing fresh and raisiny berries; no perceived oak, and there are glimpses of Burgundy magic at times. In the mouth, similar minus the magic; there is commendable concentration and in the finish a rustic component bordering on acetic. Altogether, not unpleasant but far from what the elevated pedigree might lead you to expect. I got more enjoyment from the De Villaine Mercurey that I had yesterday. Definitely not a repeat purchase.

Very pure of cherry fruit. Some rose petal, earth and grated ginger too. Plush, rich and velvety, crammed with exotic flavours. Generous and giving and drinking right in the zone.

13.5% alcohol. The last chunk of the cork breaks off at extraction. Light translucent colour. The nose is mature with forrest floor and the harmonious remnant of wild berries; the oak is not overbearing. More high pitched in the mouth with a slightly rustic aspect; moderate length, with the oak showing just a bit too much in the finish. A pleasant wine, but not at all worthy of its pedigree. As for the current price (100€ according to Idealwine), it is just laughable; even half that would be much excessive. Another Burgundy that fails to live up to expectations; I must say that this recurrent underperformance does much to reduce the pain of having to withdraw from the region because of price considerations.

Granite, red dominant fruit, blue berry. Very fruit driven in the nose and in the mouth. This boy is still very young. Based on the structure, the fruit and the noticable tannins of the wine, I would advise to hold this one for a few more years

Balanced and elegant, but lacks sophistication and complexity of a quality VR 1er cru.
May improve.
