Rich and nuanced, this wine has progressed nicely from my last tasting three years ago. Opaque ruby, full-bodied and effusive of cassis, plum, baking spices and pipe tobacco, it is simply a joy to drink. When served at 60-65° F, there is no heat from its reported 15.1% alcohol. Freshly acidic and with ample sweet tannins, it gains traction in the middle and closes long. This concentrated Cabernet exhibits beautiful purity of fruit as well as impressive structure. It should provide pleasure for another decade or more. Drink now-2025.

Although very young, this 2009 is a full bodied, big red Cabernet with a bold first taste and a lengthy finish. Decant it for a couple of hours before drinking and serve it at 60 - 65 degrees and you can enjoy it even now. Celler it for at least a few years and it will be even better. Truly, one of the best of the Napa Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is a hefty, opaque crimson Cab with intense aromas of cassis, plum, vanilla and allspice. Round and ripe on the palate, it hides its lofty 15.1% alcohol relatively well (until the end). The wine has ample sweet tannins and flavors which mirror the nose. Solid in the middle, the flavors build on a lengthy finish but are marred by a whiff of heat. I would recommend careful attention to serving temperature with this wine. My taste was at 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit and the alcoholic heat issues would have definitely been mitigated (or eliminated) by appropriately serving the wine at 60-65 degrees. Drink 2015-2025.
