Last bottle at 12 years of age. Without question a mature Peju - softer on the plate with more raisin & prune flavors. Still enjoyable, just a different experience.

Still enjoyable at 10 years of age , but different from years prior. Less berry flavors & now exposes more prune, raisin & plum. Still has a slightly dry mouthfeel - while different than a young Peju, I still found this quite enjoyable.

Bottle purchased direct at the winery at release, in my cellar since. One of the "forgotten bottles" categories...time to pop it to see how it's done. Splash decant, Val and I drank over 90 minutes with some steaks.
Deep ruby color, no signs of bricking. Perfumed nose showing dark fruits. Ripe dark cherry, plum, blackberry and spice on the palate. Fruits and earth notes through the mid palate. Smooth and pliant texture, tannins mostly resolved, adding sweetness to the finish. Medium weight and long(ish) finish.
Remembering why I liked it, it was accessible when first released but age has done it well. In a great spot now. I would drink over next few years, not likely to improve much

Though this wine is still alive and doing well, its definitely not the same lush monster it was 5 to 7 years ago...Still holding on, but in definite decline. This is exactly the problem with making full throttle wines full of fruit and oak. As the fruit fades, the oak invades. Right now its all about cedar and tannins with faded fruit in the backdrop. DRINK

Wow, thought I waited too long. But, no. It saved a dinner of less than stellar Rib Eye. Thank you Lisa Peju!
