Smells fantastic, but the palate is lacking fruit and overly acidic. Drinks like a 20 yr old wine not an 11 yr old wine. Didn't get any better with air, but didn't get any worse. I'm not sure if it's an off bottle or just a tired wine. Got one more I'll open soon to see how it's doing.

Dark ruby red in color. 14% ABV. Gorgeous nose of black fruits, Whitman Sampler Box and spice. Plush and full bodied. Well balanced. Black currants, cassis liqueur, dark chocolate and tobacco on the palate. The finish is long with prominent tannins. Slightly less opulent than a bottle a little over a year ago and the tannins seem more pronounced. Best over the next 1-3 years.

Decanted one hour. Sediment was an issue, trying to steal back the bottom 2 inches. I’m beginning to think I should have a ooffee filter on hand when opening a Leonetti wine for the bottom of the bottle. A clear garnet in color. Blackberry, florals, and spice on the nose. Juicy blackberries and cherries, chocolate, and dusty earth. Medium bodied with refreshing acidity. The tannins are present but soft unless you allow your glass to approach room temp at which point it gets quite grippy. Wonderful wine for the vintage. May have lent some elegance.

Drank with an ‘09. Both are superb…‘09 with a slight edge.
