I got much of what the other reviewer got, except that I liked it more in the minerals and slightly sercial (or rainwater) madeira flavors. There is some vanilla, but not the big fruit or overt oak of a younger Chardonnay. Like was said before, almost like a flat Blanc de Noirs. Also, they are correct in that the grape is a mutated form Pinot Noir in Pinot Gouges (see Domaine Henri Gouges), thus the richer mouthfeel. If you like an unusual take, this is great, but it is not a standard Beaune style Chardonnay. CORRECTION: I was wrong and this is actually Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc according to the producer and importer sites. I stand by my notes, but I attributed it to incorrect information.

This was sort of an odd duck. This so reminds me of what a PN dominated Champagne taste like after its gone flat. Loads of structure and minerality but lacking any fruit or pleasure it had as freshly opened champagne. Thats what this was like. This is suppose to be 100% Chardonnay but I can't help but think this must have some percentage of field blend PN mixed in. This is nothing like most Cote Beaune Chardonnays. Very unique but can't say I really enjoyed it. Color was medium gold. Slightly oxidative on a vanila dominated nose. I love love, love Chevillon but I'll stick to the reds going forward. Happily I only bought one.
