Considering its price, this bottle is just for the experience. Very strong aroma and taste of gunpowder which is not my type. Complexity is comparable to that of an ordinary aligote.

Still the ultimate Aligote, with a staggering market price too. Even the non wine lovers noticed the flamboyant Leroy white wine nose is not your average white. Flinty nose with a touch of durian, nutty and tropical fruit. Medium bodied with fresh acidity and lots of minerals.

Aligoté @ The Square (The Square): Darker colour. Mid straw. Gorgeous nose, reminds me of mature Leflaive. Lots of toasty hazelnut and oatmeal biscuit. A whiff of oak too. Wonderfully rich and full and intense. A five star nose. The acidity and fresh line comes through on the back end. Long, but lacks a little weight and intensity through the back end. ****1/2

Fresh citrus nose with loads of sulphur and flint. The nose dominates but the palate is pretty decent with great balance for a 09 white. Medium finish with minerals. Still very fresh and young, have room to improve.
