#WITS2013 (Online tasting): A medium purple color. Really ripe and boastful on the nose, with candied raspberries and cherries, some roasted coffee. Juicy on the palate with light tannins and medium acid. The cherry and red plum flavors are jammy and ripe. Secondary flavors of cedar and tobacco. Aged 11 months in 60% new French oak. Good stuff for $15.

On the nose, intense notes of cherry preserve, baking spice, brown sugar, and warm oak. The spices help restrain the ripe fruit flavors, thankfully. Still, this to me is a big, bold California pinot. Lots of ripeness but I give credit to the winemaker for keeping the acidity high too. Helps the texture a lot. Probably best to have with bigger foods.

(13.5%) Starts a touch high toned before smoothing out and turning lightly spiced. Well integrated oak throughout leads to richer, juicy dark red fruits followed by a warm, persistent finish. Please that the ripe fruits here are sensibly balanced. A nice, widely available and reasonably price ($15) Pinot Noir.
Bought Because: Received as a press sample Wine Geek Notes: Aged in 100% French Oak (60% new) for 11 months, 7,000+ cases made, twist-off
