Looks like 5 years since I last opened one of these. I expected it to be completely over the hill, but found that it had actually held up okay and is more integrated than it was. Not profound in any way, but enjoyable enough for a weeknight "dinner" of wine, cheese and crackers.

Too much alcohol on the nose and palate. A bit too forward too. I had hoped it would have smoothed out a little over time in the bottle but it did not. It might be better if allowed to breath for a day or so but it was taken to friend's house and consumed with dinner.

(For A Song The Melody Red Wine Columbia Valley) An aromatic wine with roasted coffee bean, game, mineral, and dark spices. The palate is full of coffee and dark fruit flavors with soft, silky tannins and an open finish. Not shy on the oak, but this wine delivers a whole lot of enjoyment and punches far above its weight. 34% Grenache, 32% Mourvèdre, 16% Cinsault, 13% Counoise, 5% Petite Sirah. 14.2% alcohol.

This bottle had lots of funk. A bit too much that throws it a bit out of balance. All of this round of For A Song seems to have bottle variation.

This bottle took a while to open up but I really like the earthy meaty component to this. Mourvedre influence I'd guess. Fun wine on a Friday night.

Solid again. Licorice, herbal black and blue fruit. Caramely oak a tstart but that fade and fruit come forward. Great QPR.
