This wine is at its peak. Decanted for 30 min. Had both the 2010 and 2011 at dinner and while the 2010 was excellent, the 2011 was absolutely perfect, Deep blueberry and stewed red fruit flavors perfectly integrated with silky tannins made this the perfect time to open. If you have this, open and enjoy.

The boldest non-fortified wine I have yet experienced. (This one goes to eleven...) Strong nose of sweet strawberry jam with eucalyptus overtones, a burly, juicy body full of fresh red fruits and heat galore on the finish. Acidity strong enough to keep this wine balanced, and a touch of sandy minerals on the finish as well. This hot and sweet wine will stand up to anything! (Note to self: having just come back from 10 days in the Loire Valley, my taste buds may be overreacting it this New World powerhouse; compared to my previous tasting)
