A real surprise. This bottle was showing extremely well, with smooth chocolate-dried cherry notes gently undulating through the mouth. Tannins are fully integrated, but just enough acidity to keep the wine flowing in mellow proportion. My notes from several years ago had this one written off. Glad I found one buried in the cellar. Compared favorably to a '96 Duhart-Milon that I drank alongside it.

Purchased for around $40 on release. Actually a meritage blend of Merlot, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc, PV, and Malbec. This wine peaked about fours ago, when it was filled with lovely berry/chocolate flavors and a smooth body. Now, it has taken on a distinct espresso-like profile, with streaks of green bell pepper and tobacco coursing throughout. Tannins are fully integrated. Drink up.

Found a bottle in a friend's cellar. Used the Coravin to taste it. Drinkable but losing its luster for sure.

Reasonable fruit on the start, age has caught up to the finish. Past its prime but not "faulty" yet. Drink now.
