Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Another good one from start to finish, somewhat surprising considering the vintage. That said, I've had some surprising success with some, note I said SOME, 1997s. And this was one of them. Dark sous-bois, spicy aspects, and wild berries on the nose, with that brambly thing I get from Savigny. Some floral hints started showing up after some airtime too. In the mouth, this was velvety, with a lightness that belied its profile, though the finish was slightly shorter than I'd want. Still, very good.
