Very fresh and still plenty of fruit. Quite herbal. I think it must be made of whole clusters. Didn’t know Millot uses that. But provides lots of freshness. Love this wine

ESBK wine swap. Drank in Conterno Sensory. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, underbrush, fragrant Chinese medicine herbs, dark red cherries, red plums. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), silky supple integrated medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of Vosne spice, dark red cherries, red plums, earth, savoury forest floor, bittersweet herbs, mineral background. Long finish. Very good quality. At peak already probably based on my palate tastes. Nice and elegant.

Tasted with Grand Echezeaux same year. Echezeaux seems more open and floral, most people preferred this one, however, some preferred the leaner more concentrated Grand Echezeaux, which may be a few years from really unfolding itself.

Ripe red fruits with some licorice and spice. Good balance, complexity and concentration. There’s a fruitiness to the wine; my initial thought when poured blind was a high quality Gamay that had not gone through carbonic maceration, but the silky palate made me come back to Burgundy. In a nice place now: should drink well for another decade and a half.

Really spicy and delicious with a nervy, high-toned acidic structure that I really enjoyed.
