En magnum – The 2011 Georges Noellat Vosne Romanee Les Chaumes is incredibly ethereal and flirtatious. Gorgeous nose of ethereal rose petals, exotic spices, fresh raspberry and red currant. Light Premier Cru weight with airy minerals, this hasn’t got the depth of Petits Monts or les Beaux Monts, light and charming. Drinking beautifully today. (90/100)

A great Italian evening in Belgium: In the bouquet some barnyard and smoke. Same on the palate, cigar box, minerals, juicy red fruits, good acidity and tannin. 90 - 91

Italian night @ Stappato (Enoteca Stappato, Leuven (Belgium)): This charred pinot-nose reminded me of several Spätburgunders I had in the last few years. The bright red fruited core is covered by that pine wood/fireplace/charcoal kind of topping, that I find a tad heavy and overdone most of the time. A good wine, nevertheless.
