Cellar Plan Beaujolais Tasting (Berry Bros & Rudd): From the old vines of the Javernières cuvee to truly ancient vines (c. 140 years old) of Les Impenitents. This felt like a more refined wine in every aspect by comparison to the former cuvee. The fruit on the nose feels refined rather than opulent and a degree of grip and structure are present but not to an overpowering extent. Classy stuff. One to keep a while.

A small bottling from some ancient – over 100 year old - vines in the clay-rich Javernieres vineyard at the foot of the Cote de Py hill. On the nose spicy deep red fruit. On the palate concentrated dark fruit with soft noticeable tannins, ending very pure and refined! A wine with great ageing potential.
