Lovely nose of ripe pear, lime and white flowers. The palate is gorgeous showing tremendous purity and balance. Layers of flavors of orchard fruit, minerals, and a touch of marmalade and toast. Full bodied with a long satisfying finish this is built to age and can go for another five years.

I think the fairest comparison could be made between this 2011 and the 2013 Aubert Sugar Shack Chard. When it came to the white wines, in all honesty my number one was the white burgundy. This one seems to be behind a few of the others but you know you must be doing right if you have a great Aubert, Marcassin, Morlet, Martinelli, and Leroux Burg all on the table at once! This one did seem to strike the greatest balance between butterscotch, fruit, and with some dried herbs in limestone more towards the middle and finish. The substance was there, and I truly do not believe this Chardonnay will really appreciate much more in the bottle. If you have this one, I think you need to start drinking it. If you don't have enough time, I will gladly provide you my shipping address! I think this was out done by the Aubert, and was my third behind the white burg and neck and neck with the Marcassin and Martinelli. Nice group of chards!
