One of the best wines at a tasting of 20 wines from Northwest Italy, that excluded wines from the appellations of Barolo and Barbaresco. Overall, a clear demonstration of how 100% Nebbiolo from outside those 2 most famous regions can be competitive. Very dark ruby just short of being opaque. Features a fruity, rounded taste, with enough tannin and acidity to keep the wine dry without being flabby, astringent, or grippy. A richer, enjoyable, and well aged 100% Nebbiolo from Valtellina.

Frederick Wildman Tasting: 2/2/10: This is pretty killer. Softer and richer then a Piedmonte Nebbiolo. Still ridiculously fresh. Very nice, and this has a long evolution ahead of it. 91
5/5/09: Already a little soft. Gorgeous wine. Has amazing acidic lift. 90
