Mature but still beautiful bouquet with still some licorice, leather and tobacco. On the palate firm acidity, a good concentration and pleasant bitterness. Quite mature, but in fact still a pleasure.

This thing smells like and is as comfortable as an old Chesterfield lounge. There are no discernable fruits, everything has morphed into true tertiary territory but it is neither tired nor boring just in a different and most pleasurable stage of its life. There are notes of sweet tobacco, earth, black tea and a myriad of Indian spices. It is quite thick in the mouth with a round silky feel and it partnered a wonderful confit duck at Adelaide’s Bistro Dom most amiably. The acidity and tannins have all but folded into the wine but it is still energetic…delicious stuff!

Surprisingly good. Wonderful nose. Plenty of fruit on the palate. Balanced. Drinking well now.

Quite soft tertiary flavors of leather, tobacco, with some hints of fruit, and certainly still a pleasurable wine.
