  • Nose of a beautiful opulence with brioche and candied orange.

The palate is to match, it is rich, and the style of the house with a reverse dosage of the fashion for brut natures on a rather warm vintage in champagne also plays a part in it. The juice is unctuous, with flavors of honey and pineapple, there is depth and above all a nice underlying acidity which brings tone to a concentrated whole. The finish is pretty but perhaps lacks a bit of freshness to relaunch a wine that is still very convincing and has a good length.

It's excellent, a bottle bought at auction at little cost, it can hold its own against a lot of prestige cuvées in more consensual styles.

  • Bérêche et Fils has become a favorite grower Champagne of mine, thanks to a generous friend who always seems to have it on hand, the 2005 Brut Milléime Vieilles Sélectionnées is no exception. I'm always impressed by the depth and complexity Bérêche possesses—the nose is quite lush with brioche notes, orchard fruits, dried pineapple, candied orange peel and honey. On the palate, it's elegant, powerful and intense. There is a sensual and expansive quality to this wine from start to finish.

  • A really nice bottle - medium acidity, toasty and delicious. Kept in the fridge for a week, and was at its peak from days 2-4.

  • Likes this a lot. Tasted side by side with 2005 Le Cran. At first that one was brighter but with time the subtle grace of this wine won out.
