Burgundy-Report

(Comte Georges de Vogüé Chambolle-Musigny Premier Cru) Similar in colour to the 2001 villages Chambolle. The fruit shows a much deeper aspect on the nose and still a trace of oak. The palate also offers a step-up in density vs the villages and an extra creamy edge to the beautifully presented fruit. To match, there's a little extra structure with more forward tannins. Not so lacy but certainly more serious. Very good wine, one day.

Rockss and Fruit

(Vogue Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru) Reticent upon being first poured with just a little floral spice on the nose. But this opened up in a way few wines have ever opened up in my experience. At it's apogee this wine had a surreal nose of many layers of spice, red fruits, earth, mineral and many flowers. Amazing to smell. The palate was rich and concentrated with pure sweet fruit allied with top of the line finesse. The finish was nearly a minute. Perfect acidity made this very lively on the palate. The last glass was just pure decadence with sweet sappy fruit and great grip.
