  Another of the boutique properties from proprietor Jonathan Malthus, Laforge is essentially an unfiltered, very old vine Merlot of St.-Emilion. In 2012, the blend is 92% of the Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of plum, cherry, spices, tobacco, leather. Full body, medium acidity, integrated tannins.

  Drunk at “Leftovers” dinner party and the night before. Drinking well. Good depth and smooth. Liz particularly liked it.
