  • Wow wow wow. How on earth is this under $20? Tastes like a cross between a Brunello and a young burgundy. Rich red fruit but very light in color. Depth that goes on and on. Aged 24 mos so even at 7 years this tastes like it has a decade or more left. Quite an amazing value and treat.

  • - Ruby color with fast forming legs and aromas of cherry, black pepper, cloves and smokey. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper and cherry with a medium body. Round texture with a long finish - Sangiovese wine dinner: 2005 Rabbit Ridge Sangiovese (Brunello clone), 2007 Isole e Olena Cepparello, 2007 Monsanto Chianti Classico Riserva and 2010 Caparone Sangiovese.

Decanted all wines for three hours. The fruit on the Caparone was excellent, smooth finish. The Isole e Olena was disappointing. The Monsanto had good full, rich fruit and long tannic finish. The rabbit ridge is still showing great fruit and was the surprise of the night. Big rich Sangiovese nose and full finish. This wine hasn't lost a step at all.

California with a big surprise winning the tasting!

    The wines finished:

    1st - Caparone
    2nd - Rabbit Ridge
    3rd - Monsanto
    4th - Isole e Olena

  • - Ruby color with slow forming legs and aromas of tobacco, cedar and cherry. It's in total harmony and has flavours of cherry, smokey and rose with a light/medium body. Polished texture with a short finish - Cigar box and leather nose. Rose water finish, extremely light. Wine built to last, next bottle in 5+ years.

  • Great with food. Low alcohol, light body, but not short on nose or taste. Love the QPR. I'm buying again.
