Engaging aromatics of orange blossom, orchard fruits and spice. It is full and rich in the mouth with an unctuous feel. There's good detail and it cleans up on the finish with a fresh sprinkle of pepper. Still quite youthful and sealed under screwcap.

Toll! Typischer Wachau GV!!! Aber nicht zu fett! Toller Trinkfluss, schöne Frucht und Würze. Jetzt auf den Punkt! Geht aber bestimmt noch 1-2 Jahre so!! Ich war richtig begeistert? Super GV für Jeden Tag! Kaufreiz!!

Pale yellow. Nose: classic Wachau stone, high citrus, touch of vanilla. Violet. Not the most aromatic. Palate: medium weight, touch of lushness. Very smooth. Starfruit, nutmeg, honeysuckle. Kumquat. Sweet minerality breaks through to White Peach and straw. Slight alcoholic heat which is surprising given it's only 12.5 ABV, but it remains very refreshing. Medium acidity. Finish: flavor-wise the entire palate remains on the finish with the acidity and the Starfruit driving things for a decent period. Overall a nice Wachau Gruner, but a bit underwhelming of a wine for $20.

Dinner at Chez Simo (Chez Simo Bistro - Chicago, IL): A really great base level Gruner. Wachau gruners are creeping up in price, so it's good to know there's quality under $20. Nose was pungent with melons. limes, pears, and peaches. Palate wasn't overly complex or deep, but had some very nice tropical fruit notes.
