  • Tight tannins, alcoholic with to little fruit hidden underneath a big frame.

  • Huge nose of tar and roses, very fragrant, full-bodied and woody nose. Full bodied, roses on the palate, moderate acidity, moderate medium grit tannins. Great very fragrant bottle for those who are inclined to oak treatment.

  • Immediate alcohol on the nose - upon checking, it's at 15%. The alcohol is hard to overcome, as it's simply not integrated. There's some nice red fruit and strawberries on the nose, as well as on the palate, but the alcohol sticks out. With an hour or so in the decanter some prominent VA comes out, somewhat ruining what might otherwise have been nice fruit (if you can get past the alcohol).

  • Nose of rose, strawberry, mint and a lot of alcohol

Palate is big alcohol. Disjointed. Quality fruit underneath. But wine got worse after 2 hours of air.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a medium garnet colour and presence of legs. The nose is clean and developing, showing medium intensity aromas of nail varnish remover, dry roses, plums in liqueur, candied cherries, violets and hints of pyrazine. The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(+) acidity. It has high harsh tannins and a high alcohol. It has a medium(+) body and medium(+) intensity flavours of dry roses, plums in liqueur, candied cherries and violets. The finish is medium.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a nice flavour intensity well-balanced by the acidity, the tannins are well-balanced by the alcohol too, but this wine needs some time to integrate better and the finish could be longer. Can drink now, but it has enough tannic and acidic structure, and enough fruit concentration, to develop more complex tertiary aromas over the next 10+ years.
