From glass. At first a mild nose, with sweet sea spray on its outsides and a deeper core of pineapple cake, but later filling out and giving off voluminous creamy sweet tropical fruits. But leaner on the palate, tropical fruit with a bitterer and savory edge, rounded by herb. Bit of a slate-type mineral coming through mid into finish, but mostly the finish is creamy and long. Some elegance here. Terrific.

In a wonderful place between youthful freshness and more serious maturity. Citrus and white peach on the front palate, it is the crushed seashells and gorgeous spice bouquet in the middle palate that have me singing. Really zingy acidity gives way to warmth and sunshine, with toffee and pineapple on the long finish. Definitely plenty of life left.

I love the precision evidenced by this wine. Mature in a sense, yet I would love to wait 5+ years and see what tertiary elements present themselves. For now, I can be well satisfied by the slate, citrus, white peach, appleand pepper notes, with a touch of acidity.

Clear, medium-gold color. Secondary-primary bouquet- slate, lime zest, fresh rain, white pepper, honeysuckle flower, nice complexity. Vibrant palate, with rich mid-palate density. Notes of citrus fruit and caramelized apple, white flowers, mineral, hints of oak spice. Medium-plus acid and fine structure. 30-40 second finish. Excellent. Drink/hold.

Beautiful stuff, beautifully stuffed in a way that recalls most, to me, 2010 PYCM 1er Maltroye. Can't believe this came out of california.
