Vacation wines; 6/27/2023-7/6/2023 (Hotel Sonne, Partschins, IT): Glass: Spiegelau Universal Popped and poured. Beautiful Bockstein Kabi with the Zilliken typical flesh, creaminess and sweetness. Drinks beautiful now, but will stay on this level for another decade. 89

This is not as light on its feet as the 2011 - pleasant enough, but the underlying sweetness is more noticeable here. This lacks the acidic cut of the '11 - still quite drinkable, but less focused.

Not much more to add to my previous notes. Fruity, balanced Kabinett (declassified Spätlese) that could need some more time to blend in all its components. But it is already really joyful and delicious :)

Glass: Zalto Universal Drunk over multiple days. At first, I was a bit disappointed. Fruity Riesling Kabinett without much tension and vibration. A bit chubby. After a few days this wine lost its puppy fat and blossomed. The acidity got more dominant and adds a nice kick to the clear, warm, yellow fruit. Delicious and joyful to trink. Well balanced. Still young with at least a potential for 10+ years. 88-89+

Glass: Riedel Vinum Riesling Clear, pale golden color. Clean, medium- intense, youthful -> developing, very chiseled and elegant nose with aromas of herbs, yellow stone fruit, mint, some citrus fruit, white blossoms, mineral notes and in the far back some slight hints of petrol. Very nice. Off-dry, good balance between sweetness and acidity, which is solid and ripe. Low alcohol (8% abv). One of my favorite summer wines: Very juicy and joyful, but serious and complex. Medium intense flavors of apricot, other yellow fruits, very fine mineral notes and no signs of maturity yet. Medium finish, almost like fruit juice. Makes a lot of fun to drink now and I guess for the next 5-10+ years. Good PQR, very nice Kabinett. 88-89
