  • Gorgeous wine, now ready for drinking. All the class and finesse you expect from a Chabanon wine.

  • The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of pungent spices (white pepper, hints of liquorice), bottle ageing (hints of game), oak (walnut, cedar) and black fruit (dark plums, dark cherries).

The wine is dry in the mouth with a medium(-) acidity. It has high ripe rounded tannins and a high warm alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of pungent spices (white pepper, hints of liquorice), bottle ageing (hints of game), oak (walnut, cedar) and black fruit (dark plums, dark cherries). The finish is long.

It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and very concentrated flavours that balance the alcohol and tannins. However, even if it shows some complexity provided by bottle and oak ageing, it is not complex enough to consider it outstanding.

Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop a bit more of complexity in the next 2-3 years.
