Plum and rhubarb fruit with sourness that wouldn't go away until, wham, the oak hits. Maybe a bit of licorice in the middle, and mineral notes. Not well balanced and would be hard to pair.

Opened side by side with 11 lone tree vineyard 50% preferred this, 50% had slight preference for lone tree - both drinking beautifully now and my history with acacia is that 4-5 years is about all I want to cellar before a fall off - lovely wine

I'm a bit disappointed in this wine. It has rhubarb on the nose and red fruit, rhubarb, plumb on the palate, but it came across a little over ripe for my taste and a bit out of balance. There was something else I can't quite put my finger on, but it just wasn't right. I usually like all wines from Sangiacomo Vineyard but this one was less than I expected. It wasn't terrible but at $50 a disappointment.

Soft, perfumed nose, lighter body than expected, ripe cherry fruit. Simple finish.
