Tasted over 2 hrs, bottle from secondary market -nearly semi-translucent med red mild bricking -all about subtlety - wet stone faint dried red fruit kissed with a vaguely smoky herbal note and gentle sweet sous bois -med acidity gives just enough focus and tang, med weight texturally has an enveloping diffuse creamy soft earthiness, initial bright candied strawberry fades a bit with air, slightly charred sweet oak on the finish contributes to the med tannins -first time tasting this Cru, red-fruited on mature plateau no hurry overall quite nice with good aromatic complexity but the oak is one notch too high for this vintage because the soft creaminess it imparts comes at the price of obscuring some of the underlying terroir

A fine wine that is living the twilight of its glory days, delicious now but will probably not keep much longer - drink up. Very developed tertiary flavors and aromas. Well balanced, medium intensity and complex with cooked fruit giving way to dried tomatoes and meaty and forest floor flavors. Relatively short in length.

Lovely perfume on the nose here - really good expression of fresh yet ripe Pinot fruit. A hint of earthy minerals; fruit character continues on the palate. Nice elegance, good length and balance - satisfying in an uncomplicated way. 87-89

Absolutely lovely. Round, velvety, with cherry and razor berry, rich with a long final.

All three went - how did that happen???
Lovely stuff - one can see why Clos de la Perriere is such a renowned vineyard.
11s are starting to drink somewhat nicely - a bit of air certainly helps.
