Friday Night Fizz: Drinking great just now - perhaps a little less advanced than the last bottle? An oxidative hint and a certain richness - this is magic.

Taittinger vintage needs time (the nv is not worth your time). This bottle was perfectly mature now. Ripe yellow apples, pear, slightly yeasty, and marcipan on the nose. Taste is mature and has similar notes, and ends with a Long taste og dried figs..?
Enjoyed it!

Medlar lunch (Medlar, London): Mag. Mid weight nose and attack. A slightly dialled back version of 06 while preserving enough richness to pad the extract. Good line and a little more cut on the finish than one might have expected from the attack and mid palate. Not the complexity or absolute harmony for top flight, but a very good drink with plenty of time in hand. ****

New Years Eve (Dinner at ours): From magnum. Just the thing to get the party started. Somewhat oxidative, plush on the mouth, with some candied lemon.

Pre Jubilee Friday extravaganza; 6/4/2022-6/5/2022 (At home in leafy West London): Served from mag. Yellow colour. On the palate - a hint of lemon - candied lemon maybe? Open for business - really lovely.
