Dinner at R&Y: Blind. Mid straw. Floral and aromatic. Fresh and slightly smoky on the nose. Nicely mineral. Just starting to pick up a little fat on the mid-palate with air. Lovely line. Good aperitif in to light food wine. ***1/2

It's Palomino but not as we know it. Fresh, floral and vibrant, a world away from Fino let alone Navavos Nieport. This is not a criticism, although it's not a typical Palomino wine it is a very interesting and rewarding expression of the variety, Exceptional value for money. A very well made Spanish white wine. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #085; Spain: Ribera del Duero. (by EvA): One of the few white wines from Ribera del Duero and it is really a nice one. Creamy yellow fruits in the bouquet with anise and some smoke. On the palate pleasant oak, yellow fruits, fresh citrus, anise and some spiciness. Some green impressions, but not unpleasant. Fairly full bodied and good bitterness in the finish.
