  • Well this surprised our tasting trio!
    Blind tasted.
On Nose : herbs, faint oak and vanilla.
On Palate: Flint, herbs, honeydew and chamomile.
NO ONE guessed that it was an Italian Sauvignon blanc.
The body weight of this wine was quite rich and full, the acidity was in the background , but it was there....... A puzzle.
Guesses included : an older Pinot Blanc from Alsace.... a Grand Cru Chablis.....our shrewdest guesser suggested a Chilean Sauv.blanc left on its lees, with some bottle age.....
True, it is now 6 years old.... a fine wine to drink with chicken or smoked cod.... but drink soon.

  • Straw yellow with medium viscosity in the glass. Nose of green grass, apple, melon, chamomile, red tea and slate. Med-lite body with apple, honeydew, citrus, wet grass, slate minerals, yellow flowers and tea on the palate. Sturdy and present acidity. Mildly complex. Medium finish. Tasted blind, knew it was sauvignon blanc (but from where?) and was pleasantly surprised by the designation.

  • Clear, medium intense lemon colour. Clean, med+ intensity. Youthful nose. Aromas of grapefruit, lemon peel, white flowers, smoke & crushed stones. Dry, med+ acidity, med alcohol, med body, med+ flavour intensity. Flavours of ripe green fruit, lemons, wet grass & minerals. Med+ finish. Very good. Incredibly balanced and silky despite its age. I wonder how it's going to develop...

  • At restaurant Pastis in Helsinki. Discreet black currant and mineral on the nose. Medium bodied, dry, showing subtle currant, grass and mineral flavors. Rather elegant style. Flattened a bit with more airtime in the glass. Nice with sea bass.
