Our last bottle of the 2011. Meant to keep it for another year but the non-cellared cases are filling up the basement tv room. Need to make room in the cellar for new inventory. For the price, this wine is a terrific bargain.

Deep, dark, reddish-purple garnet in color; almost opaque. Forward, attractive & fragrant nose of youthful, ripe dark fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & plums with earthy & dusty overtones, some spices, smoky, minerals, dark cocoa and hints of vanilla & toasty oak. Medium bodied with a good concentration of balanced, somewhat gritty tannins, youthful, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blackberries & currants with earthy, spices, herbs, dark cocoa, minerals and a hint of toasty oak & vanilla. Lingering dry finish with unresolved tannins. Not overly complex or deep, but it is enjoyable at present with decanting and airing; it may develop & improve further with additional aging.

friend suggested more expensive vintage so bought six of this one on spec., smokey nose with black currant and chocolate - most of which carries through to the palate, nicely acidic, little doubt they will do well with further aging (let you know in 2016, 2017, etc.)

Deep garnet color, dry but not too dry, good legs, slight mint to aroma, herbaceous, lingering finish. Rich mouth feel.

Though I enjoyed the wine, it didn't seem to have the full body that I expected from a Red Hills locale.
