Inky, opaque, indigo color. Nose a bit floral with a hint of pepper and creosote. Big fruit on the palate. Jammy with a bit of white pepper and chocolate. Opened with a bit of that metallic note I expect with a Shiraz but this went away after about an hour. Not terribly complex but a nicely balanced slurper.

A very nice Petit Sirah. Easy on the palette, smooth finish. Agree with remarks of the last tasting note...not complex, but nice. Good by itself or with cheese, beef, etc.

Tasted blind. The wine has a dark, opaque purple color. The bouquet shows plum, ripe currant and black pepper. The palate adds dried prune and a menthol character. The wine shows signs of some new oak. The acidity is medium-plus, and tannins (and alcohol) are high. Overall, not bad, but it is a bit powerful and lacking in finesse.
