  • Too many whites in my cellar that I fear are going over the hill. Resolved to try some at home starting with this one. Disconcerting gold/orange color, but not flawed. Not much on the nose. Initial taste was bland. After a half hour palate was greatly improved. No fruit, but nice blend of chalk, crushed stones and popcorn. A nice sipper, but I wouldn't wait much longer.

  • Seemed a bit overly oxidized for a 2002. Almond and nut character seemed too prominent. Still drinkable after chilled down, but not overly pleasant.

  • Very nice - enjoyed with roasted chicken (put some thyme, rosemary, garlic, lemon zest under the skin) and it was a great pairing. Some pear and other fruits with a just enough wood. The wine has a great smooth mouthfeel. I'll definitely try to get some more of this.

  • Consumed on election night with roasted chicken. Bright disc. Light straw robe with clear rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of wet stones, honeysuckle and pears. Light to medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and similar flavors as for the nose. The middle thins a bit and the finish is somewhat terse, taking this wine out of the 90+ point range.
