I opened it and tasted it. It was barely drinkable. It had flavors of peach and orange and slight oxidation. It was much much better than the last time I opened a bottle three years ago that was totally oxidized. This wine was, like I said, barely drinkable but when you have 3000 bottles of wine in your cellar you do not drink barely drinkable wines. So I poured it into a pot added some oil, garlic, thyme, fish broth and mussels which I steamed. In that format the wine was good and so were the mussels. I then opened a Gaja Langhe for dinner. I think staying at home these past 5 months is starting to get to me.

Nice yellow color, white flowers on the nose, the palate is green-apple with a hint of melon. The wine is good but will not get better, I have a case that I found in my cellar while moving cases around for fall deliveries and I will drink them up within the next few months.

Yellow apple aroma leads to melon and baking spice flavors. Acidity/fruit is perfectly balanced with a lingering finish. Paired well with our fruit and cheese fondue.

Much better than the bottle I had last month. Floral nose, the palate was melon, pear and oak. The finish was of moderate length.
