  Gang of 5 in Covid19 times; Chianti Classico (@ RW): Beautiful and complex bouquet with some stable smells, earth and autumn forest. On the palate juicy dark and red berries, earth, mushrooms, vanilla, good acidity and round tannin, The wine shows some development. Beautiful wine in a beautiful drinking stage now, but can last another 3+ years.

  Still not quite ready, but getting there for sure, the 2010 San Giusto Le Baroncole Riserva showed a gorgeous bouquet of black cherries with vanilla-infused spice, tobacco, sweet herbs, hints of almond and cooling menthol. On the palate, I found silky textures, contrasted by a mix of zesty acid and adolescent tannin, as cooling mineral and herbal tones gave way to fresh cherry with red inner florals mounting against a twang of savory spice. The finish was youthful and spicy, yet this wine is on the verge of it's early drinking window, as zesty acids lingered amidst youthful tannin and bright cherry tones.

  Popped, poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. Started out a little tough and took a full hour of air to open up and come together, but the final 30 minutes were wonderful. Needs lots of air or more time in the cellar. Still very young.

  Very tasty. Raspberry jam and incense. Although I think this will continue to open up, I think I would prefer to drink it now as it is great now but it might become a little bit sweet and jammy.
