Moncur Cellars Pinot Noir (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Aromas of red currant over red berry, slight cedar, cream and vanilla. In the mouth the wine has flavours o red currant and cherry, warm spice, mid palate and gum grip that is intense but fine textured. Fruit carries and is joined by alcohol warmth underneath. Nice.

Initial impressions on the nose are of a lightweight style Oregon wine. Cherry, berry, cream over slight toast. In the mouth there is medium plus acid, juicy red berry fruit, tight but fine tannin, full bodied but elegant with slight bitterness and slight sulphur encroaching on the long finish. needs time but is good.

Cloves and black cardamom aromas. Juicy, sweet black fruit flavours. Some stalky notes. Charcoal and dark fruit finish.
