  • 2 cm. Label torned, but bottom of bottle showed is Remoissenet released. Opened for 30 mins and lasted for 2 hrs. Light on tannin, with berry and fruits, slowly turning to mint and finally to chocolate. Perfect time to enjoy now, but can last another 3-5 yrs before moving to the next stage of life.

  • Deep garnet color with clear rim; "soupy and poopy", rich and sweet with a good bit of tannin still; a long termer. No hurry here.

  • Big, lush wine with layers of complexity. Everything a burg lover could want. Earthy nose of ripe cherries, rustic barnyard, some meaty notes and a bit of leather. Mouth-filling fruit, and a finish that goes on forever. If I could get more of this I would!

  • After having closed up several years ago, starting to re-emerge a bit. anise, dry herbs, smokey, tarragon, beef bouillon. Slightly sullen mid-palate but very nice substance to it overall.

  • Did a tasting of most of this producer's range of '95 reds. Six 1er crus and 6 GCs, all worthy of at least 90 pts. The Chambertin was the most stunning. Very open, effusive nose of forest floor, sweet cheery fruit and aged burgundy funkiness; minerality, elegant but powerful on the palate (iron fist,...) with sweet gorgeous fruit and incredible persistence, lingering for minutes. Broke my moratorium on buying, rushed back to the store to grab six more. At $79 each, this is incredible value when I consider that the last wine I rated this highly was '90 Latour. The Clos St Denis, Echezeaux, Clos Vougeot and Ruchottes Chambertin were all at least 94 pointers.
