A delicious Gevrey. Rich but transparent cherry and pomegranate to pair with an almost weight wine. A pure gaining in complexity with air with notes of beetroot, licorice, cinnamon. A wine with great verve and bright acid. A forward but expressive, linear and pure wine. Good stuff.

Philippe Pacalet Burgundy-Mainly 2011 (SF Wine Trading Company): Pale edge. Riper, deeper cherry fruit and less earth than the village wine. Light weight but some real sap to the fruit. Very good folding in of the acidity, terrific tar and licorice toward the end, long finish. A clear step up-delicious Gevrey.

Pronounced nose intensity with mushroom, truffle, cooked red fruits. Light on the palate. Medium tannin and medium acidity.
