  • Well made. Very austere, not too fruit forward, took a day of being open to really strut. Not showing a bit of age either, still a nice purple to the rim, looking nice and dark in the core. Aromas of dry earth, dried black fruits, wet leather, spent coffee, and oak. In the mouth, the wine is full bodied, not very giving- but not really holding out either. Flavors are linear, finish is a bit short and uninspiring- but it's still very good. Flavors of black fruits, dry earth, and dried herbs. A little boozy on the finish, a good amount of acidity still hanging on, I could see how earlier experiences with this wine could have been off-putting, but it's drinking well right now, though with the fruit fading it was perhaps a bit better a few years ago.

  • Strongly recommended by our local wine merchant. My friend and I were very disappointed. Highly acidic, no length on the finish, one dimensional. Very disappointing for the price.

Not particularly fruit forward. Perhaps it will get better with age, but we are skeptical.
