Opened, poured into a decanter, and poured back into the bottle after a rinse. Initially tasted with food (pizza, with prosciutto and asparagus and truffle oil, in case you were wondering). Light ruby color. Nice floral nose, with roses and hint of violet. Some cedar as well. Light, fresh wine, with sour cherry and light spice notes. Bright acidity. The wine has a light profile at first, with the sour cherry note at the forefront. Picks up a little weight over two days (tasted after being refrigerated and allowed to warm up a bit). Enjoyable, although not quite an outstanding bottle.

Opened, poured out an ounce to taste, and re-corked. Served about two hours later with food (roast tenderloin, and baked potatoes, in case you were wondering.) Dark color. Nose offers some oak notes and plums and dark black fruits. While tannic, you get a good base of dark fruits, some tar, and a floral note at the end. Acidity is there to give the wine lift but at this point, there is much brute power from the tannins and the packed and dense fruit. Hold for a few more years.
