Big, complex slightly savoury bouquet - some development, but also some fruit. Mouthfilling, sweet fruit, less obvious development on the palate. No shrinking violet - this is a pretty big wine. Still quite a bit of grip on the long finish. Nice but not amazing.

Purple color with some brown on the rim. Bouquet somewhat muted with a flavor that is dominated by tobacco and leather with not much fruit. This bottle has likely peaked with limited nuance and less than perfect balance. Drinkable but not memorable.

Nice mature Oz cabernet - showing some brick on the rim. Nose is ripe and sweet, reasonably intense, but does not persist. Palate is ripe and full with really tasty blackcurrant and black plum fruit. Not overly complex, but shows nice maturity. This is a nice complex mature cab, probably would not be mistaken for a Bordeaux but is nicely complex. Aged this for about 6 years - not sure the wait was worth it....
