Intense aromas of violets, purple fruit, and ponderosa pine bark. Fine grained on the palate with intensely precise balance of fruit, acid, and tannin, sweetly aromatic at the back with pure clear finish. Lovely with grilled salmon, buttered spinach, and fresh salsa. 93

Worldwide Pinots (Sunfish Cellars, St. Paul, MN): Tasting pour. Nasty medicinal, bandaid nose, cherry cough drop, lessens somewhat, but still pretty rough. Mike insists this is correct. Ok, you can have it. No desire to get past that.
Rouge Tomate NYC. Initial nose of intense stone, gravel and shiitake mushroom as noted by the somm. With air evolving to show hints of more lean fruit. Palate showed taught and fine all around. With more intense stone elements coupled with mushroom and truffle funk. The antithesis to your typical northern CA Pinot. And not a typical Pinot on the world stage either. None the less a beaut.

Intense nose of perfumed flowers, sweet spices, and loam. Bright burst of fresh berries on the palate with aromatic after notes. A very cocky forward wine unashamed of its individuality. 50 + 17 + 16 + 8 = 91.

The second bottle was awakened out of hibernation and quite grumpy. Still pretty red fruit, spices and wood box showed. The wine was just briary and a little firm. My belief: this surely will improve.
