a few South African wines: Pretty gold color. Vibrant, intense aromas with lots of depth: peach, papaya, apricot, the fruit is layered with honeyed tea, mint and ocean spray. Plump and fleshy texture but precise acidity. Creamy peach and apricot fruit blends well with white tea, almond, cut floral stems, perfume, lingering minerals. A somewhat rare New World Sauv Blanc that will improve with time in the cellar. Long, lingering, refreshing but complex. Worth the money for sure. A biodynamic wine from the dynamic Johan Reyneke.

Not quite my style - pricey also at 24$ CAN. Decent enough to give it a try, esp if you want to try a SB from other parts of the world. Nose is kind of mixed/nondescript with fruit - grassy/grapefruit/apple? Palate is nice with crisp acid, not to sweet - fruit is again hard to pin down. Some underlying grassy quality/minerality. On top of this - vague grapefruit/citrus? Decent match with appropriate food. May try the red on shelf.

Does it live up to the Neal Martin hype?
Well, it smells corky on the nose from a Zalto Universal. But the palate is spot on and darn - very long. So maybe it just smells like that?
Under-ripe mangos or other green fruits. But the palate takes it.
