This is probably the biggest and richest Dolcetto I've ever tried, with medium (+) acidity, medium (+) tannins and high alcohol (14%). It is made with old vines with very low yields and thus is more concentrated and has a richer mouthfeel than a typical Dolcetto. Unlike most Dolcettos, it also sees some French oak barrel aging. Ripe black cherry, black berry, tobacco and some oak spice. Although very enjoyable, it could be mistaken for a Barbera D'Alba Superiore and thus may offend the sensibilities of some purists. It is still drinking well now, after five years, and could probably go for several years more.
