This is a GOOD Cab Franc. Not stellar, not the best I've ever had, but I don't think this one is made to be like this. This is just a GOOD cab franc. Case worthy wine. This one is made to appreciate for the next 1-2 years, so if you have it, you might as well give it an hour of air time and DRINK IT. Nice floral front, youthful fruity middle, with a lot of blackberry and cinnamon cookie. The finish is dark chocolate and a little hint of grit. Peppery with a good stiff tannin with a lot of grit. Will appreciate another 1-2 years. Drink now.

Purchased with dinner at Pappas Bros. in Dallas, TX. Was wonderful with our filets (bone-in Oscar for him, traditional for me). Traditional Cab Franc with the pepper and spice notes, but also big black fruit and a little red fruit on the palate. Medium bodied, opened up really nicely over the course of a three-hour dinner. Delicious, wish I could track down some more!

Bottle bought at Brazen in Denver, clearly cab franc but more subtle than the chinon or bourgueil version and much more fruit forward with blueberry tones, very mild tannins and a pleasant mouthfeel.

Green, tart, astringent. An off bottle maybe. Very odd compared to the other 3 we have had of these over the past few years.
