Gift from a friend, needed some dry red wine for my beef/veal ragu so pulled this and drank the rest with dinner
Dark cherry, earthy, some floral notes. Thin mouthfeel, medium finish. Straightforward, easy drinking wine. good with the dinner we had tonight. Drink now

Dust, cola, red fruit, and underlying dolcetto sweetness. Nice complexity and mouthfeel. A little taut and tart, with drying tannins; less of this after time in glass. Probably need to decant or wait a year or two.

Old school style of Dolcetto. As expected with the varietal, dark berry tones with firm, acidic backbone. Faintly floral nose and a spicy finishing touch. Primary, but a solid value bottle for a weeknight simple dinner of red sauce and meats.

Martine's Wines with Martine Saunier (Formento's - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. Forward red cherry, spice hints. Easy to enjoy now. Good+ for its level/ price.

Nice mid palate - short astringent finish. Needs food. But a nicely made wine.
