This is mature, complex, and quite enjoyable. Reminiscent of old school cdp and zin when they weren’t overripe and overoaked. Bramble, raspberry, blackberry. Cherry brown spice. Palate well balanced and still plenty fresh though developing secondary herbal and forest floor notes. Intense mineral. Long finish. Still some tannins.

On a rainy night at home. PnP, drank over close to 3 hours,. Posting this note as this bottle drank meaningfully different than prior tastings. Decant made a difference and it may have moved to a different stage
Dark purple/red color. Nose after an hour started to show blackberry and tart/bramble fruit, much more expressive than when first opened. Palate of dark berries, blueberry pie, herbs(?), dark cocoa, oak. Medium weight and finish.
Considerably different from prior tastings - rustic character seems to have faded. Its gotten smoother and more expressive. Not huge depth to the wine but drinking well. Air time is a must if drinking now...

Checking back in on this wine, its been a couple years. Over 2 nights in Chicago. Bottles purchased from Garagiste several years ago. Asturias is an interesting region, but I have had limited experience with the wines.
From prior notes:" Rich and cloudy purple color. Nose of dark fruits, floral/lavender. Displayed some cedar and burnt sugar about 30 minutes in. Fruit is dark/blue with an earthy sweetness. Mid palate very rich with baking spices and cinnamon..."
Color faded a bit from last tasting, also noting the sediment is high in this bottle. Fruit a bit faded (from memory), high toned spice notes still there. Would describer as rustic, earthy and somewhat spice driven. Interesting wine if only for uniqueness of origins and varietals...has probably already peaked.

At home with Valerie, paired with some cheese. Thought I would revisit this wine, been a couple years since last bottle.

Was thinking this may have settled in last couple years - still a rich and rustic. The varietals here are (from Garagiste reference) "Carrasquin, Verdejo Tinto (similar to Trousseau and may even be related), Mencia and Albarin Tinto"...if nothing else, its interesting... not varietals I have experienced on any regular basis.
Will re-trade earlier observations that time may settle this, - I think it "is what it is" which is a big, rustic and interesting wine - best had w hearty fare...

decent wine, but nothing earth shattering.
